Installation on macOS

OSFISKAL L-PFR macOS is installed with a single installer package. The installation takes a few minutes, and afterwards the device runs by itself, every time the computer starts.

What you need

  • A Mac with an Apple Silicon processor (M1 or later). Macs with an Intel processor are not supported.
  • macOS 26 or later. The installer checks the version and does not continue on an older system.
  • An account with administrator rights on that computer. It is needed for the installation and for granting Full Disk Access; the cashier later works with an ordinary account.
  • A smart card reader that supports ISO/IEC 7816 and works with macOS, and the secure element (card) you received from the Tax Administration, with its PIN.
  • A free USB port for the reader.
  • A USB drive (flash drive) for local audit.
  • Free disk space: about 1 GB for every 180,000 receipts the device keeps until the Tax Administration collects them.
  • An activation key from my.osfiskal.com.
  • An internet connection, wired or wireless (WiFi), for activation and for sending data to the Tax Administration. If the computer reaches the internet through a firewall, allow outgoing HTTPS connections (port 443). Receipts are signed without the internet too.

Download

Download the installer package OSFISKAL-L-PFR-macOS-1.0.0.pkg from osfiskal.com.

Installation

  1. Open OSFISKAL-L-PFR-macOS-1.0.0.pkg.
  2. If macOS reports that the package cannot be opened, open System Settings > Privacy & Security, click Open Anyway next to the message about the package near the bottom of the page, then open the package again.
  3. On the first page of the installer click Continue, then Install.
  4. Enter the administrator password when macOS asks for it.
  5. Wait for the installation to finish. The last page reads Uređaj je instaliran i pokrenut (The device is installed and running).
  6. Click Close.

The device window opens right after the installation. Before you continue, give the service Full Disk Access.

Full Disk Access

The device service needs Full Disk Access to work with a USB drive during a local audit. macOS cannot ask for this permission by itself, so you grant it by hand:

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access.
  2. Add OSFISKAL L-PFR servis and turn on the switch next to it.
After every update

After every new installation, turn the switch next to OSFISKAL L-PFR servis off and on again, even when it looks on. Otherwise macOS does not recognise the permission for the new version of the program, and local audit does not work.

What the installation sets up

PartWhat it does
Service OSFISKAL L-PFR servisSigns receipts and sends data to the Tax Administration. Starts with the computer, also when nobody is signed in, and restarts by itself if it stops.
Device window OSFISKAL L-PFRAn app in the Applications folder. Where the activation key and the PIN are entered and the device state is shown. Opens when you sign in to the Mac.
Device memory/Library/Application Support/osfiskal-lpfr. Receipts and data are kept here until the Tax Administration collects them. Only the service has access.
macOS firewall permissionIf the firewall is on, the installation lets an ESIR on another computer on the local network connect to port 8010.
OSFISKAL L-PFR deinstalacijaThe program for removing the device, in the Applications folder.

The service answers at http://127.0.0.1:8010 on the same computer. An ESIR on another computer uses this Mac's IP address and port 8010, for example http://192.168.1.20:8010. See Connecting the ESIR.

After the installation

  1. Give the service Full Disk Access.
  2. Plug the reader with the secure element into a USB port.
  3. In the device window, enter the activation key from my.osfiskal.com.
  4. Enter the secure element's PIN.

The PIN is never stored. It is entered again after every computer restart and every time the card is taken out of the reader.

Updating

You install a new version the same way as the first: open the new installer package and follow the same steps. The installation stops the device, replaces the program and starts it again. Receipts, data waiting to be sent and settings stay where they were. After an update:

  1. Turn the switch for OSFISKAL L-PFR servis under Full Disk Access off and on again.
  2. Enter the PIN again.

Uninstalling

  1. In the Applications folder, open OSFISKAL L-PFR deinstalacija. A Terminal window opens.
  2. Enter the administrator password when asked.

The device is not removed while its memory holds data the Tax Administration has not collected yet. A message then appears with the number of such packages. Wait for the device to send the data over the internet or run a local audit, then uninstall again.

After uninstalling, the device memory stays in /Library/Application Support/osfiskal-lpfr, because it is the taxpayer's data.

Do not drag the app to the Trash

If you only drag the OSFISKAL L-PFR app to the Trash, the service stays registered in the system and keeps trying to start. Always remove the device with OSFISKAL L-PFR deinstalacija.
