Computer recommendations

These settings are not required for the installation, but they prevent brief interruptions in working with the card and the device being stopped.

Microsoft Edge: Startup boost and running in the background

Even when it is not open, Edge keeps a hidden copy that restarts itself several times a day. When it does, Windows opens the certificates on the card, and the reader is reset for a moment. The device recognises this by itself and resumes within a few seconds, without asking for the PIN again. To prevent it, turn off two options in Edge:

  1. Open Edge, then Settings > System and performance.
  2. Turn off Startup boost.
  3. Turn off Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed.

USB selective suspend

Windows can cut the power of a USB port that has not been used for a short while, and the reader disappears until the device opens it again.

  1. Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  2. Next to the plan you use, click Change plan settings, then Change advanced power settings.
  3. Under USB settings > USB selective suspend setting, choose Disabled.

Sleep

While the computer is asleep, the device signs no receipts and sends no data. Set the computer not to go to sleep while the till is in use.

Restarting the computer

After every restart, including one started by Windows Update, the secure element's PIN is entered again in the device window.

Device memory

Do not delete or move the folder C:\ProgramData\osfiskal-lpfr. It holds the receipts and data the Tax Administration has not collected yet, and it is the taxpayer's data.
